Two pop icons to release new music

LONDON (AP) - Imagine what it would sound like if Michael Jackson and Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury did a song together? Actually, it has already happened. Queen guitarist Brian May says Mercury recorded some tunes with Jackson when he was in California with the pop star back in 1983 - but the material was never released. May says he's working on the music - and plans to have it out soon - perhaps within a couple of months, according to his blog. May says he has permission from Jackson's estate to release the recordings. He calls the project "exciting, challenging, emotionally taxing" - but "cool." Mercury died in 1991 and Jackson in 2009.
