U.S. 50 reopens after closures due to flooding and standing water

Two areas along U.S. Highway 50 reopen late Saturday and early Sunday, after closures were administered in the afternoon and evening on Saturday because of flooding and standing water.

The first closure was about seven miles west of Fowler because of standing water on the roadway. The water was crossing the highway at the 64th Lane, according to Colorado State Patrol.

The second closure was in La Junta from mile-marker 379 to 380 due to flooding, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
