Here's some good news on the job front. In both Pueblo and El Paso County the most recent unemployment numbers are down.
The State Labor Department just released September's numbers. In El Paso County, unemployment dropped to 8.6% from 9.3% in August. In Pueblo County, it's down to 9.4% from 10.2%. Nationally, the rate is at 9.1%.
A spokesperson form the Pikes Peak Work Force Center couldn't pinpoint an exact reason as to why both counties are experiencing the drop, but he did offer one insight.
"I can't be 100% sure of all the reasons. We think some of it may be related to season hiring," says Sherman Swafford from the Pikes Peak Work Force Center.
