Unknown powder found along railroad tracks in Fountain, crews investigating

Crews in Fountain are investigating an unknown white powder that was found along railroad tracks.

Radio traffic between crews says the substance in running along the northbound track, close to Highway 85/87. Fountain police say they aren't sure how far the line of powder stretches, or what it is. Fountain police and fire departments are both on scene.

Witnesses calling the station say the powder looks like something was pouring out from a train as it went down the tracks. They say there was a lot of the powder, and it's clearly visible from the road.

Emergency crews say until they know what the powder is; it's still a potentially dangerous scene. They ask people to use caution in the area while crews investigate.
