The Division of Wildlife tranquilized three bears and hauled them out of the Broadmoor neighborhood Thursday afternoon. The bears will be euthanized.
The momma bear and her two cubs got into a home on Sanford Rd., sending a maid scrambling for safety. She locked herself in a bathroom, from which she was rescued by a Colorado Springs police officer.
The bears left the home on their own and took refuge in trees.
The DOW has a zero-tolerance policy for bears that break into homes.
