Fire fighters in El Paso County had quite the work out today responding to multiple grass fires that were rapidly growing due to dry conditions and blustery winds. The largest fire burned in an area near Jones Road and Curtis Road. One structure was reported to have been burnt in the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Falcon Fire Department which is currently at the fire's origination point.

During the fire, El Paso County initiated a Reverse 911, evacuation order for homes in the direct line of the fire. All crews other than the Falcon Fire Department have begun to stand down as the fire has been knocked down. Some crews are currently mopping up hot spots while others are starting to stand down. The evacuation order for those living in the burn area has been cancelled at this time.
