The rescue of a giraffe continues at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. A giraffe apparently fell after she was bumped by another giraffe Friday afternoon.

Our media partners at The Gazette report the giraffe has been moved to a flat area after falling down a slope.

Zoo officials reported she is 25 years old. Average life span of a giraffe in captivity is 25 to 30 years old.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded with rescue crews and heavy equipment. According to a witness one giraffe knocked another down and she was laying on her back or side gasping for breath. The zoo removed spectators from the area and blocked off the area with tarps.
