Residents of this quiet Colorado Springs neighborhood are in shock after a man was gunned down in front a home on the 4900 block of Hackamore Drive South.

Karen Crockett lives next door to the home where the shooting happened. She says she and her husband woke up to the sound of neighbors arguing. "He heard noises. He said he heard people arguing and screaming and a pop sound." she explains.

Across the street, Rebecca Lord heard the same thing. "I did have the window open and I could hear some arguing and yelling." she explains. As she tried to fall back asleep, she had a chilling premonition. "I laid back in bed and just had this thought... What am I going to hear next? Gunshots? Within the next 2 minutes we heard a single shot and got out of bed. The 1st thing was to call 911." she says.

By the time paramedics arrived the victim was already dead. Neither he nor the gunman have been identified, but neighbors tell us they may have been family members. Police aren't releasing much information, but say the community is not in danger. "We have somebody that we're looking at." explains Sgt. Tim Stankey with CSPD, "The person involved is not out running around. He's with us."
