Colorado Springs police say they're investigating human remains found on the west side of the city. They say they might possibly have been there for months.
The remains were found by volunteers cleaning up a wooded area of city property around 10:30 Saturday morning near 600 San Juan Road, between Manitou Blvd. and W. Uintah St.
CSPD spokeswoman Barbara Miller tells News 5 that the homicide division is investigating and that they're early in the process. Miller points out that there are several possibilities as to what happened that they're looking into; it could possibly be a homeless person who died and is just now being found, or it could be a homicide in which the body was dumped.
Miller says the investigation is on-going.
