Update: Warren Drive murder arrests

Two men are behind bars after police say they brutally gunned down another man in Southwest Colorado Springs.

Police have arrested 23 year old Rodrigo Rubio of Phoenix, AZ and 62 year old Michael Berkowitz of Colorado Springs and charged them with the murder of 27 year old Matthew Moore.

It happened June 30th on the city's southwest side near the intersection of Corona and Warren Drive. Moore was shot near a church parking lot when he stumbled to a nearby house to look for help. He later died at the hospital.

Day's later police released a photo of a jeep believed to be connected with the shooting. They now believe that Jeep belongs to Berkowitz. "I believe that was the vehicle that was used in at least a portion of the crime." explains Lt. Pat Rigdon with CSPD, "That's why we were really hunting it down and it's good that we found it. I think that led to a lot of information in the case."

Berkowitz was arrested this weekend in Colorado Springs. Police in Arizona helped investigators track down Rubio who left the state and was found in Phoenix.

Rubio is being charged with 1st Degree Murder, while Berkowitz is being held on an Accessory to First Degree Murder charge. Both men are also being held on Second Degree Kidnapping charges.
