The United States Olympic Committee has named Scott Blackmun as its new chief executive officer.
The announcement was made at a news conference Wednesday morning at the Olympic Training Center.
Blackmun has signed a four year contract with a base salary of $450,000 a year. He is currently the chief operating officer for Anshutz Entertainment Group.
Blackmun is a familiar face among the USOC leadership, he served as senior managing director and briefly as interim CEO during the late 1990's and early 2000's.
Blackmun called being selected for the position a "dream come true."
"I believe in the Olympic movement, I believe in both pieces of the mission: competitive excellence and inspiration," Blackmun said.
He will officially take over January 26.
