Vail Resorts say lift ticket revenue flat so far

Vail Resorts Inc. says lift ticket revenue is essentially flat so far this season, but skier visits
are down.

The Broomfield-based ski company said Friday that lift ticket revenue at its five resorts through Wednesday was down 0.4 percent compared with a comparable period last year. Skier visits were down 2.7 percent. Ski school revenue was down 0.6 percent and retail and rental revenue was down 0.8 percent.

CEO Rob Katz says the company is pleased with the results given the state of the economy and below-average, early season snow in Colorado.

Vail Resorts operates the Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone resorts in Colorado and Heavenly in California.
