Christina and John Bixby met after they both lost their spouses. Christina lost her husband, Capt. Dale Goetz overseas when he was hit by an improvised explosive device, and John lost his wife to breast cancer around the same time. Around a year ago, they found each other. But when they added their families together, they found that they had quite a crew. Together they had ten kids in all, and no way to transport all of them in one vehicle together. "Everywhere we have been has been a two car job." So when a company based out of Kansas called Country Wide Transportation had a van they wanted to donate, the Veterans Motorcycle Club knew just who to give it to. "Their story just got us, it was exactly what we were looking for. A family that had a soldier who had fallen in Afghanistan and five years down the road was still struggling to go to the store together and we found the need and I think we filled it today." says Dan Levindofsky, Secretary for the Veterans Motorcycle Club in Colorado Springs. The van was a complete surprise for the family, when they believed they were only being invited to lunch. And they say it will be a definite asset for them in the future. "We were looking for a 15 passenger van and we were just taking our time, and wow.. this is just amazing."
