OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Vanderbilt's Connor Harrell snapped a sixth-inning tie by blasting the first College World Series home run in the new TD Ameritrade Park and the Commodores went on to
defeat North Carolina 7-2. This is Vandy's first trip to Omaha for the double-elimination tournament for the national championship.
Vanderbilt advances to a Bracket 1 game Monday night against Florida, which rallied to beat Texas 8-4. Brian Johnson and Bryson Smith each drove in two runs.
North Carolina plays the Longhorns on Monday afternoon in a losers bracket game.
