In the 4A quarterfinals, No. 5 Monarch (10-1) came out strong in the first half against No. 4 Vista Ridge (10-1).

Monarch's defense stifled Vista Ridge, allowing zero points through the first two quarters of play. Key turnovers, inlcuding two offensive fumbles by the Wolves, presented scoring opportunities for the Coyotes.

Vista Ridge quarterback Brayden Stewart threw three touchdown passes in the second half but the late rally wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

The Wolves' season ended with a 28-21 loss. Monarch will host No. 1 Pueblo West next weekend in the 4A semifinals.
