Walgreen's wants you to give the gift that keeps on giving. How about a flu shot? Walgreen's is now offering gift cards that are good for flu shots only. The cards are available at stores and online.
"It provides protection from three different strains of viruses: H1N1, H3N2, and influenza B virus," explains Raliza Ilieva, a registered pharmacist with Walgreen's.
Health experts say the shot itself will give protection within weeks, and last for a year. Walgreen's has had the flu vaccine since the end of August.
The cost for the flu shot gift card in Colorado Springs is $29.99. That price may be different in other areas of the country.
The CDC recommends a flu shot for anyone six months and older. Walgreen's can give the flu shot to anyone ages nine and older. The gift card is only good for a flu shot. It cannot be used for other merchandise.
