Warm & breezy today...cooler & gusty tomorrow

TODAY: You 'may' think today feels like late May! High temps will be at least 15 degrees warmer than average across eastern Colorado. There is a cold front on the way and before it gets here late tonight it will be very warm. High temp today will reach 80 in the Springs and 86 in Pueblo. You might notice a bit of a west/southwesterly breeze this afternoon at about 10-20 mph. There is a RED FLAG WARNING for extreme fire danger from 1 PM today through 7 PM this evening for Fremont County!

TONIGHT: Cool front blows through the state tonight, so it will be windy at times overnight as it arrives and passes. Some gusts tonight will exceed 35 mph in spots....especially on the eastern plains. There is enough moisture with the front that there will be a few light rain and snow showers over the northern and central mountains. No precip is expected here locally! There will be a mix of partly to mostly cloudy skies for a few hours overnight and into the start of the Wednesday forecast.

WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY: Thanks to that cool front it is expected to be much cooler and continued gusty at times tomorrow with winds from the north & northwest in excess of 25-30 mph at times. High temps only make it to 63 in the Springs and 68 in Pueblo. Skies during the afternoon will be mostly sunny for all of us. It will be a cold night, with freezing temps likely in many spots Wednesday night into Thursday morning so protect your plants, pipes and pets. Sunny skies and cool temps again for Thursday afternoon. Highs very close to those tomorrow.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY: Weather for your Friday and the weekend is going to be gorgeous! Abundant sunshine expected all three days with temps warming nicely to start the weekend. It will be even warmer for all of us on Saturday. Temps of 72 in the Springs and 79 in Pueblo. Max temps on Sunday will be almost as warm with more sunshine.

MONDAY: Late Sunday into Monday a weak cool front will push into the state. Temps should be about 7-10 degrees cooler for the first day of the new week. Still no major changes for the 'wetter' expected over the next seven days.
