Warm & dry today...rain and snow on the way

TODAY: Mostly sunny, warm and wonderful today! Afternoon high temps will rise to 63 in Colorado Springs and 70 in Pueblo and Canon City! Those temps today will be about 10-15 degrees warmer than average.

TONIGHT: Staying quiet and mild tonight. Skies will be partly cloudy and temps in most areas will be around 30 or better. Clouds and moisture will start streaming into the Colorado Mountains ahead of a Pacific storm system.

FRIDAY: Quiet weather to begin the day with temps warming-up nicely again during the early afternoon. Snow will really start flying during the day for the ski resorts and we could even see a few scattered rain showers or even a stray thunderstorm by later afternoon/early evening. High temps should rise to 57 and 65 for Colorado Springs and Pueblo. In the mountains there are WINTER STORM WATCHES are posted for much of the high country and even some WINTER STORM WARNINGS for the southwestern San Juan Mountains from Friday morning through Saturday evening. One to two feet of snow are possible in the warning area and about 8-16" for spots in the mountains covered by the watches! There will also be a WINTER STORM WATCH starting Friday night through Saturday evening for northern and northeastern Colorado north from the Palmer Divide...including Denver. It is ‘possible' that these areas could see a range of 6-12 inches snow during that time frame.

SATURDAY: Rain and snow showers expected with temps that will be at least 15-20 degrees colder than Friday. Temps will only reach 38 in Colorado Springs and the mid 40's for Canon City and Pueblo. As the Pacific storm system moves from southwestern Colorado through the northeastern half of the state will expect gusty winds and increasing rain and snow showers across all of our area. As of today it like this storm will have the potential to drop a pretty good shot of snow across northern Colorado from Monument Hill north and east. There will also be a pretty good chance for measurable for the mountains and higher elevations west of I-25.

SUNDAY: A few lingering showers possible over the mountains and higher elevations along the Front Range very early in the morning. During the day skies will continue to clear, but temps will stay cool and winds will be gusty at times. Highs for Sunday should be very close to the temps around here on Saturday.

MONDAY-WEDNESDAY: Weather to start the first few days of next week will be very quite and milder. Plenty of sunshine each day with temps warming each day. For Monday around 50 in the Springs and mid 50's for Canon and Pueblo. Even warmer still Tuesday and by Wednesday it will top-out at 58 in the Springs and the lower to mid 60's from Canon to Lamar.
