Our warm weather is great for some businesses.
We all enjoy spending time outdoors on beautiful days, so we have a look at what the sunshine means for the bottom line.
Most people crave sweets any time of the year, regardless of the weather, but this March, ice cream is more popular than usual.
"We've definitely seen a lot more foot traffic especially in the afternoons," said Angie Gridley, owner of Cookie Ladies. "We've seen more families and people coming down with the nicer weather, getting ice cream."
At Cookie Ladies on the Riverwalk, they usually don't sell this much ice cream this early in the year.
"We had to get some more just about a week ago or so, and that's kind of unusual," said Gridley.
They have their eye on their stock and it keeps selling.
"There's been a couple of times we even stayed open a little bit later because there are people who come in after five, and we normally close at five because of winter hours," said Gridley.
Over at the Pueblo Zoo, the lines have been out the gate several times this March, which isn't typical.
"Usually in the past, it's been a little bit slower," said Gloria Madrill, Marketing and Special Events Coordinator at the zoo. "It's still been winter time, and the weather's been a little colder, but this year March has really been a great month."
"We usually wait for the nicer weather," said Andrea Cambo, a visitor at the zoo. "Today is perfect. No wind."
"It's a beautiful day out," said Emery Storm, a nine-year-old visitor at the zoo.
Those with the zoo say it's not unusual for most visitors to wait for warmer weather.
"We do have a lot of animals that enjoy the cold weather, but I think a lot of times visitors don't really think about the zoo doing the winter time," said Madrill. "They don't realize we're open all year around."
Most people say they want to enjoy the weather now before it gets hotter.
Because of gas prices, some people we spoke to say they now take the bus or don't travel much, but they try to go outside every chance they get because of the weather.
