Another day with a wide range of temperatures. Temperatures topped out in the lower 60°s from Colorado Springs to Trinidad. Temperatures only reached the 40°s along the U.S. 50 corridor over the southeastern Plains of Colorado.
Overnight, we will see mostly clear skies and temperatures dropping in to the 20°s. (Colorado Springs: 29° | Pueblo: 54°)
A weak front will pass through the region early Friday morning. Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler Friday as compared to Thursday. Under partly sunny skies highs should reach the 50°s across much of southern Colorado. (Colorado Springs: 54° | Pueblo: 56°)
Computer forecast models suggest strong winds will move down through the atmospheric column Saturday morning. Winds will be 60-70mph just 2,000 to 3,000 feet above the ground. Some of the stronger winds could mix down to the surface, so exp
Expect windy conditions starting Saturday morning. The winds should also help keep temperatures relatively mild Saturday morning (in the 30°s).
Winds will persist Saturday afternoon and will likely increase Sunday. The winds will be coming off the mountains. The compression of the wind will help boost temperatures in to the 60°s and 70°s along the front range this weekend.
January Above Normal
