TODAY: Warm and wonderful for you Thursday forecast. Make plans to be outside today as skies will be mostly sunny this afternoon with temps all the way up to 67 in Colorado Springs, 70 in Canon City and 73 in Pueblo.
TONIGHT: Mostly clear tonight and pretty good weather for trying to see the comet Pan-Starrs. Keep you eyes peeled to the west about 30-60 minutes after sunset and look low on the horizon to see if you can see it and the crescent moon. Overnight temp stay mild again with lows of only 41 in the Springs and 35 in Pueblo.
FRIDAY: Still officially winter...it just won't feel like it tomorrow. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies expected with temps about 20 degrees warmer than average. 73 for the Springs...76 in Ft. Carson and 79 in Pueblo! You might notice a little bit of a west/southwest breeze at 10-15 mph during the afternoon. A Pacific storm system headed our way is the reason for the breeze and those toasty temps. There will be a chance by late Friday night of some few light snow showers will begin falling again in the high country.
SATURDAY: Morning forecast will be uneventful at the lower elevations, but snow will be falling in spots in the mountains...we could even see a shower to start across Teller County and the mountains close to home. Just after lunchtime we will also have a chance of some rain showers along the Front Range. So how likely are chances for showers? About 30% for Colorado Springs, 30-40%+ over Monument Hill, The Rampart Range and Wet & Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Lower opportunity for rain in Canon...about a 20-30% chance and even lower chances for Pueblo, Trinidad, La Junta and Springfield. We'll still a shower or two around here into the evening. Where it is cold enough...those showers will be of the snowy variety. We don't anticipate any accumulations of significance in areas that do see a little snow.
SUNDAY: In the wake of that weak storm you can expect a little bit of a breeze...especially early in the day. Temps by afternoon are going to be at least 3-5 degrees warmer with skies that are a mix of clouds and sunshine.
MONDAY: Quiet weather on-tap to begin the new week. You might notice temps just a touch cooler compared to Sunday, but skies will be much sunnier. Lower 50's for the most of us during the afternoon and then mostly clear and cold by nightfall with lows in the 20's.
TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY: No worries with the weather both days...in fact it will be mostly sunny and at least 10-15 degrees warmer for highs by Wednesday afternoon.
Enjoy the rest of the week and have a GREAT weekend!
