I just got back from the Board of Water Works meeting in Pueblo. Here's what happened: The board unanimously approved a contract to supply water to land near the airport, where Black Hills Energy wants to build two power plants. The contract runs for 20 years, with two 10 year extensions written into it.

The power company still needs to get an air quality permit from the state, and finalize an annexation agreement with the City of Pueblo before construction can begin.

Black Hills says the two power plants will cost an estimated $475 to $525 million. It will create up to 400 construction jobs and 15 permanent jobs.
