Water main break in Manitou creates a slippery mess

NewsFirst5 has been updated by officials in Manitou Springs regarding a water main break that left several hundreds without water services for part of the New Year morning. Manitou Springs officials state that the break happened at around 6:30 am in the Crystal Park and Crystal Hills area. Officials state that the pipe has been repaired as of 9:00am and cusomers may see some discoloration for a short while as the system clears out.
In addition, the water that flowed onto the streets has frozen causing a ice hazard. Those passing through the area are advised to avoid the area if possible.
