Unusually warm temperatures for southern Colorado this weekend.
Temperatures throughout the weekend will be much above normal for this time of year. Temperatures will be at levels typically seen in mid-June. We are talking on the order of 15° to 25° above normal and we could be flirting with record high temperatures in some locations. HA few numbers to keep in mind this weekend...
Record Highs Saturday/Sunday:
Colorado Springs: 82°/86°
While I don't think we will set new records in Pueblo, we could be very close to tying record temperatures in Colorado Springs.
Sunny to mostly sunny today. Winds will be breezy at times. Highs will be in the 80°s. (Colorado Springs: 80° | Pueblo: 86°)
Interesting weather tidbit... If Pueblo can hit 90° Sunday and/or Monday, this will be the first time the city has reached 90° in nearly eight months. You have to go back to September 9, 2013 to find the last 90°+ day.
WARMTH TO LAST:
The warm temperatures will continue for southern Colorado through early week. Long-range computer models suggest an upper-level wave will move through the western United States. This will bring a chance of cooler temperatures and a chance of rain to parts of the KOAA viewing area. Right now, it looks like the best chance for rain will come Thursday with chances Friday and next Saturday in the mountains. - Meteorologist John Dissauer
