Pueblo lawyer and community leader Tom Farley died Monday afternoon after a six year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Farley was 75. He was a politician, having served in the state legislature for several terms beginning in the 60s, and a community leader. He was a current member of the CSU governing board. He also represented Parkview Hospital in legal matters as well as the District 60 School Board.
Governor Bill Ritter issued a statement of condolence Tuesday morning:
"Tom was a long-time friend whose heart always belonged to Pueblo. He was a fierce advocate for higher education and was enthusiastic about every cause and every issue he tackled. Combine his passion and commitment with a great sense of humor, and he was just a wonderful person to be around. He served the state in invaluable ways and he will be sorely missed. Jeannie and I send our deepest condolences to Tom's family, friends and colleagues."
