Why you'll see more Deputies at CSU-Pueblo

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is stepping up its presence on the CSU-Pueblo campus following the discovery of a threatening note.

The note was found early Tuesday Occhiato University Center. It appeared to threaten a bombing and shooting, although an emergency text and email sent to staff and students only talked about a bomb threat.

According to a release from the University, Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor said in addition to the regular campus officers on duty, additional officers will stationed in campus residence halls and throughout campus.

The campus will host a number of public events, including a Discover Day by the Office of Admissions on Friday and the 2A State Basketball Tournament in Massari Arena Thursday through Saturday.

Students and staff are being told to be vigilant and report anything suspicious.

Any information regarding this incident should be reported to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, the anonymous campus tip line, 719-549-2376, or to Pueblo CRIMESTOPPERS, 719-543-STOP (7867).
