Widefield opens new splash park

Lucky kids!

The Widefield Community Center has a brand new splash park. They're holding a grand opening Saturday, May 15, from 2-5 p.m. There will be free swimming all afternoon; cake, ice cream and popcorn will be served at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Acappella group "The Poor Boys" will perform from 3-5 p.m. Food vendors and Mesa Ridge Student Council's craft fair will have booths.

The splash park offers 19 features to keep patrons entertained during open swim sessions. Summer hours will begin May 22 and run through August 14.

The splash park was funded by the Colorado Lottery Conservation Trust Fund.

The Community Center is located at 705 Aspen Drive in Security. For more information call 391-3515.
