Wildfire in Northern Colorado continues to grow

Larimer County - A wildfire west of Fort Collins continues to grow. The Galena Fire (formerly called Soldier Fire) is currently burning more than 700 acres and moving south-southeast, fueled by heavy winds. The blaze has been burning near Lory State Park since before noon Friday afternoon. At this time, there is no estimated time of containment.

Earlier Friday, emergency crews issued around 900 evacuations, but that has been significantly scaled back. No injuries have been reported and there's no word yet on how many structures have been damaged.

Fire crews have placed a call for air support, but have not received any confirmation of any available resources at this time. However, crews on scene say if they did have any available on Friday afternoon, the high winds would have kept them grounded.
