Will Americans spend more this holiday season?

The holiday shopping season starts Friday and many retailers want to know what it's going to take to get you to open your wallet.

With the recession easing, things aren't as tight as last year, but new surveys show the economy still has a hold on our wallets.


Last year, 56% of shoppers said they would spend less. This year, 43% said they plan to spend less.
