Hurricane-force wind gusts take their toll on trees, buildings, and people's patience.

A barn roof on Sagecreek Road in El Paso County is ripped off the structure. Then it hits the nearby garage, and breaks a window.

"The pets are safe, the house is fine every body's fine. Nobody got hurt and that's really all that counts," says Susan Mandell, owner of the barn.

Both Colorado Springs and Pueblo have several reports of downed trees, uprooted trees, and trees falling on power lines, even knocking out the power in many places. Neighbors tell News First 5 crews have responded quickly to the trees that are leaning on the lines.

One tree landed on a car in Colorado Springs. The owner of that car tells News First 5, "that's what insurance is for."
