Gusty winds out of the southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph and low relative humidity as low as 10 percent are creating such conditions that, if a fire should start, extreme fire behavior will be imminent. Any grass fire will spread extremely rapidly.
***A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MST SUNDAY FOR THE LA GARITA MOUNTAINS ABOVE 10000 FEET, THE UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND EASTERN SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS BELOW 10000 FEET.***
Snow accumulation will be 7 to 14 inches with locally higher amounts possible especially on southwest facing slopes. Southwest winds 20 to 35 gusting to 55 mph are causing blowing snow, drifting snow and whiteout conditions at times. Travel will be very hazardous due to heavy blowing and drifting snow, near zero visibilities and icy, snow covered roads.

TODAY: Mostly cloudy and cooler with a high near 50 in Colorado Springs and in the upper 50s in Pueblo. Windy with a west wind 15 to 20 mph gusting up to 50 mph. 20% chance of rain/snow. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy, calm winds and cold with a low near 20. Slight chance for snow accumulating less than a tenth of an inch possible.
VETERANS DAY: Partly cloudy, cold and breezy. A 30%chance of snow showers in the Springs. The highs will only reach 32 in Colorado Springs and 39 in Pueblo.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Coldest night so far this season with mostly clear skies. The lows will fall into the low teens in Colorado Springs and into the single digits in Pueblo. A northwest wind at 5 to 15 mph will make many areas feel as though it were below zero.
MONDAY: Sunshine and temperatures rebound with highs near 50. Monday night will not be as cold, but still frigid with lows in the low 20s in Colorado Springs and upper teens in Pueblo.
TUESDAY: Sunny, calm and warmer with highs in the low to mid 50s. Clear and cold overnight with lows in the Springs near 30 and dropping into the low 20s in Pueblo
WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY: Mostly sunny with seasonable temperatures. Afternoon high in Colorado Springs will be in the upper 50s and in Pueblo, near 60. Mostly clear with lows near 30 overnight.
