Hold on to your hat today. Winds will continue to gust to near 60 mph the rest of the afternoon. Because we could see some dust storms kick up with these winds, a Dust Storm and High Wind Warning are in effect through 6 PM this evening. Luckily the winds will die down as we head into the evening commute and beyond.
The northerly winds have also brought in some much cooler air. If you step outside today, you'll probably want a jacket. Temperatures are 20-30 degrees cooler today compared to yesterday with highs staying in the 30s and 40s.
But there is a warm up on the way. We'll see slightly warmer temperatures Wednesday, with a nice big warm up Thursday. Fittingly, Thursday is also the first day of Spring and many of us will be seeing sunny skies and highs into the 60s.
The weekend will bring another drop in temperatures. This time, no showers expected, just highs mainly in the low 50s.
Enjoy your Tuesday, Meteorologist Valerie Abati
