TONIGHT: A breezy warm night for most of the plains as the heavy snow will be in southwestern Colorado. Lows will only cool to near 32.
SATURDAY: The snow should begin after sunrise with the winds really kicking up around lunchtime. Northern El Paso County will have blizzard conditions with 6-12" by midnight Saturday and winds over 35 mph. The winds in the afternoon will gust up to 60 mph and that is what will create the blizzard conditions. Teller County and the Rampart Range will have lighter winds, but plenty of snow...6-12". South and east of these areas, Colorado Springs is looking at 2-6" of snow. Pueblo will have rain in the warmest part of the day with snow early and late...accumulating up to 1". The Wet Mountains and the Sangres will see 5-10" of snow. Eastern Las Animas County including Kim are looking at 2-6"...Trinidad could see up to 3 inches. North winds will be strong in all areas blowing at 20-40 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Highs in the 30s in Colorado Springs, 40s in Pueblo.
SUNDAY: Clearing out but still cold and windy. Highs will be in the 30s and 40s.
NEXT WEEK: A snap back to mild and dry conditions with 40s and 50s on Monday...60s Tuesday through Thursday.
