A quick winter storm made things a little chilly in Southern Colorado on Wednesday evening. High wind gusts, dropping temperatures and slick roads made Jeniese Cathey, a Las Vegas transplant, a little nervous. "It's been crazy and I'm definitely not used to the snow." she says, "I will say I definitely get anxiety from driving in it. But I'm starting to adjust more."
But not everyone sees it that way. The crew at Serrano's Coffee Company in Monument welcomes the flakes. Dropping temperatures means more customers dropping in to warm up. "It's definitely busier. People just kind of come get cozy in here." explains Bianca Lenski, a barista at the shop, "Normally when it's cold outside it's definitely hot drinks, and we'll be right here on our espresso machine!"
Still, the snow isn't for everyone... like Jeniese. "The winters suck here but the summers suck in Vegas so it's finding a happy medium." she says, "But besides the snow when it gets crazy like this I like it!" Not too worry though Jeniese, the weather never stays like this too long. It is Colorado after all.
