A Colorado Springs jury has convicted Jules Cuneo of two counts in a child abuse case which ended the life of a toddler more than two years ago.

Cuneo was convicted of Child Abuse (knowingly and recklessly causing death), and Reckless Manslaughter. The prosecution had asked for a murder conviction, but the jury opted for a less severe charge. A two year old foster child in Cuneo's care died in October of 2007 from a brain injury. A video tape of questioning by investigators showed Cuneo saying, "I think that's where I threw her."

Cuneo is set to be sentenced on April 12. She could receive 16 to 48 years in prison on the child abuse conviction and 4 to 12 years on the manslaughter charge.
