Woodland Park says no to marijuana

TELLER COUNTY - Retail marijuana will not be sold in the city limits of Woodland Park. Late Thursday night, the City Council voted 3-2 to ban all growing, testing and retail sales of marijuana as well as the operation of marijuana clubs.

The community joins Monument and El Paso County in voting to disallow sales of the drug.
Denver's city council informally agreed to allow sales there on Monday. The Pueblo City Council has put a moratorium in place before making a permanent decision.

Colorado Springs City Council will hold a public hearing on the issue Thursday, June 27 at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall. Council is expected to vote on the issue in July.
