A five day bike event for war veterans kicked off Wednesday with a special bike fitting.
"Special Ride" is put on by Wounded Warrior Project. Over the next three days veterans will ride more than 60 miles on specially fitted bicycles all provided by WWP.
Organizers say the event is not just about the bike trip -- it's about kickstarting veterans into a health and wellness lifestyle.
"I have a lot of back and upper neck issues so fitting a bike to me will help relieve some pressure that I might have or prevent injury," says retired Army Captain Lacey Hamilton.
Wounded Warrior Project started ten years ago and sponsors 20 different programs ranging from retreats to alumni engagement programs to benefits assistance.
