BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A former Broomfield High School teacher and wrestling coach accused of having sex with a student has been convicted of sexual assault on a child by someone in a position of trust.

The Daily Camera reports that 29-year-old Travis Masse showed little emotion as the verdict was read Tuesday. Masse was also convicted of sexual assault on a child by someone in a position of trust with a pattern of abuse. He faces a life term when sentenced July 21. Former students testified during a four-day trial that Masse had sent sexual text messages.

One student said she and Masse had sex while she was underage. Masse admitted to texting but denied there was sexual contact. Masse goes to trial later this month on charges of attempted sexual contact with a child.
