Youth football takes to the field for the first time ever at the new Lake Minnequa Sports Complex in south Pueblo!

Kids from second to sixth grade went head to head on the new fields.

Parents, players, and coaches say they're excited about the new complex because of the open space.

The Pueblo Police Activities League runs the youth football program.

They started the idea of the complex which cost over a million dollars.

That money came from grants, the city, and the Denver Broncos.

Today was not the official opening, that will actually be in a few months.

More additions to the complex will come in the future.

Some parents hope there will be seating and more parking.
