Wednesday is the 19th annual "Kick Butts Day" marking the 50th anniversary of the Surgeon General's report on smoking and health.
It's a day to say "No" to smoking.
Students at Palmer High School joined the fight against tobacco.
They encouraged their peers to quit for at least one day or pledge to never start.
4,100 Colorado kids under the age of 18 become daily smokers every year.
Kids report getting cigarettes from many sources including friends and family.
This happens to come on the same day that state lawmakers voted not to raise the tobacco age from 18 to 21.
The House Finance Committee rejected the proposal, it failed by a single vote.
