Fire destroys mobile home in eastern Pueblo County

An agricultural burn got out of control in eastern Pueblo County and spread fast this afternoon. The fire burned several acres at Cherry Road and Highway 50 about 20 miles east of Pueblo. Disaster declaration sought for Colorado counties

Half of the melon crop in Otero County was destroyed by a freeze in May or hail in June. Montrose County lost its entire cherry crop because of a freeze in April. Gov. Bill Ritter has requested federal disaster assistance for both counties because of the crop damage. ... more » -
Governor requests help for melon farmers

Gov. Bill Ritter Friday announced he has requested federal disaster assistance for Otero and Montrose counties where freezing temperatures and severe hail affected crops. Gov.
