DENVER (AP) - Unusually dry conditions and a wildfire that has destroyed 28 homes near Conifer have prompted some Front Range communities to issue fire restrictions. Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says one person has died from fire related causes.

Two brush fires kept fire fighters busy in Pueblo County this afternoon. Both are now contained.
One burned brush along the Arkansas River bottom near Blende. It burned about 5 acres.
Another burned prairie land near 55th Lane and Elderberry. That fire burned 3 to four acres.

A controlled burn in Boone ends up burning an acre and causing problems for a main power line.
