Some homes threatened by a Colorado wildfire were protected by a private team of firefighters hired by an insurance company.

The Boulder County Humane Society is taking-in dogs that have been displaced by the Fourmile Canyon Fire. To make room for the displaced dogs, 20 dogs available for adoption are being sent to the Pikes Peak Humane Society.

Colorado Springs Emergency Management is sending staff to Boulder County this morning to help bone-weary staffers there deal with day three of a wildfire that's leveled nearly 100 homes and other structures.
