Online voters name Snowmass mammoth 'Snowy'

More than 15,000 people casts votes in the Denver Museum of Nature & Science's "Name the Mammoth" contest. The winner: Snowy. Snowy was the first mammoth discovered at an Ice Age fossil site near Snowmass Village last fall. Snowy beat out four other contenders--Jessie, Ella, Ziggy and Samammoth. more » -

Scientists from The Denver Museum of Nature and Science continue to excavate bones found during a reservoir construction project a couple of weeks ago.
