Sierra soccer player Gary Thomas is this week's Loaf ‘N Jug Aquafina Athlete of the Week.
Gary already has eleven goals through seven games to lead the state in goals scored. His dream is to play professionally in Germany and he has already had talks with second division teams to potentially play next summer in Europe.
The 16-year old junior is known for his fancy footwork and gets some of his inspiration from his favorite professional soccer players.
"I watch YouTube a lot," said Gary. "I watch great players like Lionel Messi and Neymar. I sit there and watch their tricks and I go in the backyard and copy and copy for hours and when I get on the field, I make sure it's perfection."
Gary has been playing soccer nearly his entire life. He also enjoys playing basketball and video games.
